1. Introduction

Welcome to couplelog("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. couplelog is a relationship app for couples to connect, chat, share moments, and build habits together. Because the app handles private messages and media between paired partners, we treat your data with heightened care. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have when you use our mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated when you use the Services, and limited technical data from your device. Depending on how you use couplelog, this may include:

  • Account & profile data: Email address, display name, birthday (if provided), profile photo, authentication method (Apple, Google, or email), language preference, and your pairing connection with your partner.
  • User-generated content: Chat messages, photos, videos, voice messages, file attachments, diary entries, timeline posts, canvas drawings, daily question answers, game responses, milestones, and other content you or your partner create or share in the app.
  • Relationship & usage data:"Together since" date, streaks, notification settings, in-app actions (such as opening chat or completing prompts), and feature usage needed to operate and improve the Services.
  • Device & technical data: Device model, operating system version, app version, IP address, crash logs, performance diagnostics, and push notification tokens (APNs/FCM).
  • Calendar data (on your device):If you tap "Add to Calendar" for a milestone, the app requests permission to create an event in your device calendar. We do not upload your full calendar to our servers.
  • Website data: If you visit wearecupely.com, we may collect standard web logs and cookies needed to deliver the site (see Section 10).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
  • Pair your account with your partner and sync shared couple features.
  • Deliver core features including chat, memories, daily questions, games, notifications, and widgets.
  • Send push notifications about partner activity, reminders, streaks, and daily prompts (if enabled).
  • Monitor reliability, diagnose crashes, and improve performance and security.
  • Understand aggregated usage trends to improve the product.
  • Comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect users and the Services.

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or use your private couple content for third-party advertising.

4. Device Permissions

The couplelog iOS app may request the following permissions. You can deny or revoke many of them in iOS Settings, though some features may not work without the relevant permission:

  • Camera & Photo Library: To capture or select photos and videos for chat, memories, and your profile.
  • Microphone: To record and send voice messages in chat.
  • Notifications: To alert you about messages, partner activity, streaks, and daily prompts.
  • Calendar: Only when you choose to save a milestone reminder to your device calendar.

5. Data Security & Storage

We store data on secure cloud infrastructure and use encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest where applicable. Access to production systems is restricted and logged. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards. Your chat and media are intended to be private between you and your paired partner.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

We use trusted third parties to operate the Services. They process data on our behalf under contractual obligations and may only use it to provide services to couplelog. Our key providers include:

  • Google Firebase (Google LLC): Analytics, crash reporting (Crashlytics), and cloud messaging for push delivery. May receive device identifiers, app instance IDs, crash logs, and usage events.
  • Google Sign-In (Google LLC): If you sign in with Google, Google processes authentication according to its own privacy policy.
  • Sign in with Apple(Apple Inc.): If you sign in with Apple, Apple processes authentication according to Apple's privacy policy. You may choose to hide your email using Apple's private relay.
  • GetStream: Powers real-time couple chat, message delivery, and media attachments in chat. Processes chat content and related metadata needed to deliver messaging.
  • Supabase: Used for select real-time and backend infrastructure features.
  • couplelog API / cloud hosting: Our own backend and storage for accounts, couple data, memories, and app configuration.

We may update providers as the product evolves. We will not share your private couple chat or photos with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

7. Push Notifications

If you allow notifications, we use Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver alerts about messages, partner activity, streaks, daily questions, and similar events. You can turn off notifications at any time in iOS Settings or within the app's notification settings. Communication-style notifications (showing your partner's name and message preview when supported) require the permissions you grant on your device.

8. Your Data Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data.

  • In the app: You can update your profile information in Settings.
  • Deletion requests: To request deletion of your account or personal data, email us at haitran2202@gmail.com. We will verify your request and process eligible deletions within 30 days, subject to limited backups or legal retention requirements.
  • Unpairing: Removing or ending a partner connection revokes shared access to couple content going forward, subject to what each account still holds.

9. Children's Privacy

couplelog is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. The app is designed for romantic couples and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. International Users & Website Cookies

couplelog may be used from different countries. Your data may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the Services, you understand your information may be transferred to jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws than your own. If you visit our website, we may use essential cookies or similar technologies required for security and basic site functionality.

11. App Store Privacy Labels

Apple's App Privacy details for couplelog on the App Store summarize categories of data collected (such as contact info, user content, identifiers, and diagnostics) and whether data is linked to you or used for tracking. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the Effective Date above. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
